Hurling & Camogie at St Joseph’s NS
Hurling and Camogie are at the heart of our school’s sporting culture, and we are proud to offer pupils the opportunity to develop their skills in these fast-paced and exciting games.
Training takes place after school and is led by our highly skilled coaches: Mr. Teagle, Mr. Quinn, and Mr. Caulfield, all of whom have a wealth of knowledge and experience in both hurling and camogie. Pupils train in groups, focusing on key skills such as striking, footwork, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while also developing a deep appreciation for the traditions of the sport.
Our school has a long track record of success in hurling and camogie, with teams winning numerous competitions across Galway and even nationally in Ireland. These successes are a testament to the dedication, hard work, and team spirit shown by our pupils, who continually strive for excellence both on and off the field.
Whether pupils are new to the sport or have experience, all are encouraged to join and improve their skills while being part of a team that embodies the values of dedication and respect.
